JAMB Considers Adding Life Skills and Critical Thinking to UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is considering adding life skills and critical-thinking assessments to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The proposed change would test how candidates solve problems and apply knowledge beyond conventional academic subjects. JAMB Registrar Professor Segun Aina disclosed the plan during a television interview. The board also announced procedures for candidates who have lost access to the phone numbers or email addresses linked to their profiles. Candidates can correct personal-detail discrepancies through NIN updates with NIMC before aligning the corrected information with their JAMB records. JAMB said the measures are intended to help candidates whose admission plans have been affected by errors in names, dates of birth and other personal records.
