El-Rufai Arrives Kaduna Court as Alleged Fraud Trial Resumes

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has arrived at the Kaduna State High Court for the continuation of proceedings in the alleged fraud case against him. Video from the court showed El-Rufai exchanging pleasantries with ADC governorship candidate Isa Ashiru Kudan before entering the courtroom. The hearing follows the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of his latest bail challenge. The lower court had earlier declined to grant him bail. The ICPC, which has custody of El-Rufai, was directed to produce him for the hearing. He is facing allegations of corruption, financial fraud, abuse of office and money laundering. The allegations have not been proven in court.
