Anambra to Enforce 18–35 Age Limit for Youth Organisations From January 2027
The Anambra State Government says youth organisations must ensure that their members and leaders are between 18 and 35 years old by January 1, 2027. Organisations that do not comply will no longer be recognised by the Ministry of Youth Development and other relevant government agencies. The policy covers youth development programmes, associations and leadership positions created specifically for young people. A transition period has been provided for affected groups to review their membership and leadership structures before enforcement begins. The government said people above 35 can still support young people through mentorship, guidance and other forms of assistance. However, positions and opportunities reserved for youths must be occupied by people within the approved age bracket.
