Outrage as Kaduna Family, Including Infant, Is Reportedly Held Captive
The reported abduction of Ahmed Zakka, his wife and their infant child in Kaduna State is a painful reminder of the insecurity threatening families across Nigeria. No Nigerian should have to plead for their life or the safety of their family in the hands of criminals. The presence of an infant in this ordeal makes the situation even more heartbreaking. I urge security agencies to act swiftly to secure the safe release of the family and other Nigerians still held captive. Families are already struggling with the high cost of food, transport and other essentials. They should not also have to live in fear of abduction at home or while travelling. Insecurity destroys livelihoods and leaves families with emotional and financial burdens they can scarcely bear.
