Osun Senator Fadahunsi Honours Police Invitation Over Alleged Call for Violence

Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, has honoured an invitation from the Osun State Police Command over a video in which he was alleged to have urged supporters to kill members of the Accord Party ahead of the governorship election. He arrived at the police headquarters in Osogbo at about 2pm on Wednesday. The video drew widespread outrage after it circulated online. Fadahunsi has denied calling for violence. He said his remarks were taken out of context and claimed the circulating clip was generated with artificial intelligence.

Authorities should review the complete video, document their findings clearly, and communicate enough to reduce tension around the election.
