Lagos Police Arrest Seven-Member Gang Linked to Multiple Murders and Armed Robberies
Operatives of the ‘Zonal Puff Adder’ unit in Lagos Zone 2 Command have arrested a seven-man gang led by 23-year-old ‘Karube’ on March 3. The suspects face charges including murder, armed robbery, cultism and unlawful possession of firearms. Karube’s arrest led police to a hideout known as ‘Lion’s Den’ in Orile Iganmu. Officers apprehended five more members there and later arrested a seventh suspect, ‘Bansa’, at White Sand. Authorities recovered a shotgun, cutlasses, knives, a hammer, live cartridges and charms. During interrogation, Bansa confessed to killing a tricycle rider in Surulere. The group also admitted involvement in three additional killings in Lagos between February 14 and 18. They remain in custody and will be charged on conclusion of investigations. AIG Olohundare Jimoh praised the operatives’ professionalism and urged the public to stay vigilant and provide credible information to the police.
