27-Year-Old Killed in Damaturu Clash Over Divorced Woman

A violent dispute over a divorced woman left a 27-year-old man dead in Damaturu, Yobe State. The state police spokesman confirmed that on June 29 at about 3am, officers from ‘A’ Division responded to a distress call at Kalam Hamlet. Investigations suggest a disagreement between Abubakar Hassan and Buba Usman led to the fight. Usman allegedly attacked Ibrahim Hassan with an axe, fatally cutting his neck. He also wounded Abubakar, Isa, and Aliyu Hassan. Relatives of the deceased counterattacked with arrows, injuring Usman in the abdomen. Police evacuated the injured to the Teaching Hospital, Damaturu. The suspect, who has confessed, remains in custody as the investigation continues.
