Otunba Gbenga Daniel: Loud Words, Hollow Actions
Our people say that “The mouth that tells lies will eventually meet the ear that hears the truth.” Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s actions often fail to match his words. As governor, he reported N49 billion in debt at handover in 2011. Audits later revealed nearly N87 billion, a N38 billion gap. Ogun State’s finance commissioner called these “fake loans.” Now Senator for Ogun East, Daniel claims to be a guide. Yet Ward 4 executives in Sagamu suspended him for anti-party activities. His 17 sponsored bills never passed a second reading. The drum that beats loudest often hides a crack. Past financial irregularities and current isolation expose those cracks. Our people need leaders whose actions speak as loudly as their words.
