INEC Lists 592 Candidates for 52 Elective Seats in Benue

INEC says 592 candidates will contest 52 elective positions in Benue State during the 2027 general elections. The figure includes 12 governorship candidates, 40 senatorial candidates, 118 House of Representatives candidates and 422 candidates for the Benue State House of Assembly. Benue now has 37 state assembly constituencies, up from 32 after court judgments restored five previously suppressed constituencies. The state has 3,057,225 registered voters across 276 wards and 5,102 polling units. INEC urged political parties and other stakeholders to prepare for the elections scheduled for January 16 and February 6, 2027.
