APC Wins All 17 Chairmanship Seats in Enugu Local Government Polls

The All Progressives Congress won all 17 chairmanship positions and 260 councillorship seats in Enugu State’s local government elections, according to the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission. The commission’s chairman, Prof. Christian Ngwu, announced the results in Enugu and described the election as free and fair. He said certificates of return would be issued to the winners. Some of the declared results showed wide margins. In Igbo-Eze South, APC candidate Ugochukwu Ukwueze received all 51,033 votes cast, while Chris Onyebuchi secured all 137,751 votes in Igbo-Eze North. Enugu South Chairman-elect Caleb Ani attributed the party’s victory to Governor Peter Mbah’s development projects and called for support for the governor and APC candidates in 2027.
