US House Passes New Russia Sanctions Bill With 100% Tariff Option

The US House of Representatives has passed a sanctions bill aimed at increasing economic pressure on Russia over the war in Ukraine. The measure now goes to President Donald Trump, who is expected to sign it. The bill targets Russian officials, oligarchs, financial institutions and vessels linked to Russia’s shadow fleet. It also allows the US president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries that buy significant amounts of Russian crude oil or natural gas.
