VeryDarkMan Says He Will Present Police Kidnapping Claims as Court Evidence
Social media activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has maintained his allegation that some police officers aid kidnappers and may be involved in crimes blamed on “unknown gunmen.” He made the remarks after the Nigeria Police Force invited him to substantiate claims he made at the Nigerian Bar Association’s annual conference in Port Harcourt. He had alleged that officers at highway checkpoints share information about travellers with kidnappers and bandits. VeryDarkMan said he would not withdraw his claims and would present any evidence he has if he is charged to court. The police say the invitation is intended to allow him to provide proof, while he has not publicly released any evidence so far.
