Kano Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged ₦40 Million Government Job Scam

Police in Kano have arrested Ali Alhassan-Mohammed over allegations that he collected more than ₦40 million from job seekers by promising them government appointments. Police said he allegedly posed as a Special Assistant at the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board to gain the trust of victims. More than 10 people have reportedly come forward, while the suspect is alleged to have admitted defrauding over 20 applicants. Investigators said fake appointment letters were recovered as exhibits. The suspect remains in custody and is expected to be charged after the investigation is completed. Police have warned job seekers not to pay anyone who promises government employment and to verify all recruitment claims through official channels.
