Uba Sani Says Northern Leaders Must Share Responsibility for Poverty and Insecurity
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani said Northern Nigeria’s poverty, insecurity and out-of-school children are problems that have built up over decades, not issues created solely by the Tinubu administration. Speaking in an interview on Trust TV, Sani argued that Northern political leaders must account for how they managed education, local governments, agriculture and security before blaming Abuja for every challenge in the region. He maintained that the North can demand more from President Bola Tinubu while also reflecting on how its leaders used the power and resources they previously held. He also declined to publicly discuss his differences with former governor Nasir El-Rufai.
