Odumeje Accuses FG of Politicising Onitsha Head Bridge Repairs

Pastor Odumeje has criticised the Federal Government over the ongoing repairs on the Onitsha Head Bridge, alleging that the work is politically timed ahead of the 2027 elections. He questioned the project’s reported cost and urged the government to complete the repairs and reopen the bridge within three weeks. He also expressed concern that a prolonged closure could worsen the burden on commuters and businesses. Odumeje further argued that the South-East lacks key federal infrastructure and diplomatic services. He called for fairer national development, while faulting Igbo political and business elites for what he described as inadequate action on the region’s challenges.
