Political Decay: A Spiritual View of Nigeria’s Leadership Crisis
I believe Nigeria’s political decline goes beyond poor governance. To me, it reflects a deeper poverty of the soul: a desire for power and control that is never satisfied. Revelation 18:13 warns of a system that trades not only in goods, but also in “the souls of men.” I see this as a reminder that political power can become destructive when leaders value control above human lives and dignity. In my view, leaders such as Buhari and Tinubu reflect a wider political system that repeatedly uses people, deepens hardship and leaves lasting damage. Unless Nigerians confront both the political and moral roots of this problem, the cycle may continue.
