Jigawa Man Charged Over Alleged Fatal Stabbing in ₦500 Phone Balance Dispute
Police in Jigawa State have charged a 20-year-old man to court over the alleged stabbing death of a customer during a dispute over a ₦500 balance for a mobile phone. The incident reportedly happened around 12:30 a.m. on October 1 in Chamo village, Dutse Local Government Area. The victim allegedly bought a phone for ₦1,500 and paid ₦1,000, leading to an argument over the outstanding balance. Police said the victim was taken to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital in Dutse, where he later died. The suspect was arrested, and officers said a knife was recovered as evidence after investigations were concluded.
