Journalists Assaulted in Ogun State: CDHR Demands Arrests Within Seven Days
The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights condemned the alleged assault and intimidation of three journalists covering an enforcement operation in Igbesa, Ogun State. According to the organisation, private security operatives linked to a Chinese firm attacked reporters on June 3, violating press freedom and democratic principles. The group warned that impunity cannot be tolerated. CDHR has given the Nigeria Police Force and the DSS a seven-day deadline to arrest and prosecute all individuals involved. It also urged the Ogun State Government to investigate tax remittances and any possible complicity.
