UK Jury Convicts 18-Year-Old Nigerian in Murder Stemming from Snapchat Feud
An 18-year-old UK-based Nigerian, Emmanuel Popoola, has been found guilty of murdering another teenager after an online dispute escalated into violence. Prosecutors told the Old Bailey that Popoola and co-defendant Tayvon Etefia chased victim Keanu Harker on an electric bike in Enfield last June. Popoola then shot Harker at close range. The pair tried to flee by abandoning the bike and disposing of their clothes. Etefia was arrested at a train station bound for France. Popoola was detained in Paris and extradited to the UK. Three others have also been convicted for helping the suspects evade justice. Sentencing is expected later this week.
