Police Rescue Seven After Katsina Bandit Attack, Arrest Five Murder Suspects
Police say they rescued seven people, including six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, after bandits intercepted their vehicle on the Kankara-Dutsin-Ma Road in Katsina State on September 21. Operatives reportedly engaged the attackers, who fled with gunshot injuries. The seven victims were rescued unharmed, medically evaluated and released to the appropriate authorities. Police also arrested five suspects linked to separate murder cases in Cross River, Anambra and Oyo states. Other operations reportedly led to arrests of suspected terrorists, cultists and kidnappers, as well as the recovery of firearms. Investigations are ongoing.
