Bus Crushes Wheelbarrow Pusher at Mile 3 Diobu, Leaving One Dead

On Friday morning, a Mitsubishi commercial bus rammed into a wheelbarrow pusher at the Ikwerre Road/Ekwe Street junction in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt. The victim, identified as Ifeanyichukwu Udo in his early 40s, was crushed beside the road and died at the scene. A second pedestrian was also hit and rushed to a nearby clinic with injuries soon after the crash occurred just before 6:00 a.m. Traffic personnel and officers from the Nkpolu Police Division arrested the bus driver, known as Saturday, and impounded the vehicle. The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the fatality and says investigations are ongoing.
