Police Question Rochas Okorocha Over Alleged Forgery and Impersonation
Former Imo State governor and senator Rochas Okorocha was arrested by police in Abuja on Monday night and released on bail after about one hour of questioning. Police are investigating allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation. The Imo State Police Command said he has been asked to return to the Force Headquarters for further interrogation. The arrest reportedly followed his failure to honour earlier police invitations. His lawyers had requested that an initial September 2 appointment be moved to September 8, but he reportedly did not appear on that date.
