Amotekun Corps Rescues Kidnap Victim, Arrests Father and Sons in Ondo Forest
The Ondo State Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested a wanted kidnapper and three of his relatives in a forest hideout at Oba-Akoko. The main suspect, a 33-year-old man named Usman, had been on the run since 2024. Usman was found holding a man captive alongside his younger brothers, Wahab (27) and Yakubu (18), and their father, Iliasu (56). The victim’s family had paid ransom but received no release. Amotekun operatives stormed the camp, rescued the victim—who suffered head injuries—and recovered most of the ransom and weapons. In the same operation, the Corps paraded 13 more suspects over various kidnap cases and 15 individuals linked to armed banditry, cultism, robbery, rape, theft, and breach of peace. Those arrested include suspects from multiple local government areas of the state. The Corps Commander declared Ondo State safe and credited close collaboration with the police, army, DSS, and NSCDC. He urged residents to continue providing actionable tips to help prevent crime.
