36-Year-Old Man Fatally Stabbed by Friend During Dispute in Ikom, Cross River
On Sunday, July 5, 2026, 36-year-old Charles Ekuma Eze was killed in Etayip community, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State. Police say Eze got into an argument with his friend, 42-year-old Michael Ndifon, who allegedly stabbed him in the right rib with a dagger. The incident was reported to the Ikom Police Division by community leaders. The victim was rushed from Holy Family Hospital in Ikom to Ebonyi State Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, where he later died. The suspect has been arrested and the weapon recovered. Eze’s remains have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
