Labour Party Official Sues Peter Obi for N50bn Over ‘Faceless’ Remark

Labour Party Official Sues Peter Obi for N50bn Over ‘Faceless’ Remark

Abayomi Arabambi, Labour Party’s National Vice Chairman (South-West), has demanded a public apology and N50 billion in compensation from Peter Obi. His legal team says Obi falsely claimed during a podcast that Arabambi “does not have an address,” portraying him as a faceless individual without legitimacy. In a letter from Neplus Ultra Attorneys, Arabambi’s lawyers call the statement malicious and defamatory. They demand an unreserved apology on national television, full-page retractions in newspapers, and the N50 billion payout for injury to his reputation, dignity, political standing, and public image. The demand comes after the podcast interview circulated widely across television stations and digital platforms. Arabambi’s team stresses he has always maintained a known residential and business address and that the false remark exposed him to widespread ridicule.

Is a financial demand really the best response to a mere remark about lacking an address?
