LASTMA Begins 24-Hour Traffic Operations Ahead of Lagos Festive Rush
LASTMA says it will run a 24-hour traffic management operation across Lagos as vehicle and pedestrian movement rises during the Ember Months and festive season. Officers and special response teams will be deployed to major roads, interchanges, bridges, transport terminals and commercial areas. The agency says it will monitor traffic in real time and respond quickly to crashes, broken-down vehicles and other disruptions. The operation will target illegal parking, improper loading and offloading, road obstructions, speeding, reckless overtaking and driving against traffic. Temporary diversions may be introduced where needed to prevent gridlock. Motorists are advised to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and report crashes or breakdowns through LASTMA's toll-free short code, 3367.
