Ogun 2027: Hunye’s Legal Aide Alleges Contradictory INEC Declarations by Yayi
The legal adviser to Ogun APC governorship aspirant Abayomi Semako Hunye has alleged that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi, made contradictory declarations in sworn electoral documents during his political career. The adviser said the dispute was not about Adeola’s ancestry but whether documents filed at different times, including during his years in Lagos politics, contain inconsistent information on his state of origin and personal details. He said any alleged contradiction should be tested in court. Adeola has denied claims concerning his origin and threatened legal action against Hunye and former ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello unless evidence is produced. Hunye’s camp says it is ready to present its case before a court, while warning that unresolved legal disputes could become an issue for the APC ahead of the 2027 Ogun governorship election.
