Man Allegedly Poses as Pro Basketball Player to Steal $90,000 BMW From Georgia Hotel Valet
Police in Savannah, Georgia, are searching for a man accused of posing as a professional basketball player to drive away with a 2026 BMW X5 worth about $90,000 from a hotel valet service. Investigators said he presented a valet ticket at the Hyatt Regency Savannah and claimed he had several vehicles at the hotel. The BMW, which had been given to a guest as a dealership loaner, was later tracked to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and reported stolen. Police also linked the suspect to a stolen Audi found in the hotel garage and a separate valet theft involving a Toyota C-HR days earlier. Surveillance images show a Black man believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
