Wike Rules Out Supporting Uzodimma for Senate President

Wike alleged that Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, is encouraging governors to influence the selection of senators and House of Representatives members to advance a future Senate presidency bid. The dispute is linked to Wike’s proposed Rainbow Coalition, which seeks support for President Bola Tinubu while allowing parties to contest governorship and legislative elections independently. Uzodimma’s APC Governors Forum has opposed arrangements it believes could weaken the party ahead of 2027.
