Onanuga Challenges Peter Obi to Address Claims of Anambra Debt Liabilities

The Presidency has weighed in on the dispute over financial liabilities allegedly left by Peter Obi’s administration in Anambra State. Presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga said Obi had maintained that he left the state debt-free and had previously indicated he would quit the presidential race if that claim was disproved. Onanuga said the Anambra State Government had presented figures alleging unpaid obligations to Water Corporation workers, teachers, pensioners and gratuity beneficiaries, as well as loans taken by the administration. He challenged Obi to respond to the claims and honour his earlier pledge if they are verified.
