Salawa Abeni Recalls Tinubu’s Support During Her Health Crisis

Veteran waka singer Salawa Abeni says illness, grief and financial hardship once left her unable to walk properly or perform. Speaking at her 50-year stage celebration, she said her health declined after the loss of her child and that she later sought help from Bola Tinubu in Lagos. According to her, Tinubu contacted then Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola, who arranged for her medical trip to Dubai. She also credited MC Oluomo with supporting her during periods when she had no shows and struggled financially.
