Jigawa Police Investigate Discovery of Headless Body in Maigatari Bush

The Jigawa State Police Command has opened an investigation after a headless body was found in a bush near Shanya Babba village in Maigatari Local Government Area. Residents reportedly raised the alarm at about 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026. Police officers from the Maigatari Division visited the scene and later recovered the victim’s severed head during a search of the area. The victim has not been identified, as no means of identification was found on the body. The remains, which had begun decomposing, were taken to a hospital for examination. Detectives are working to identify the victim and arrest those responsible.
