Tinubu Directs Release of Approved Funds to Regional Development Commissions
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to ensure that approved funds due to regional development commissions are released promptly. Speaking through the SGF at the North Central Development Commission summit, Tinubu said the commissions would receive political and financial support for projects in infrastructure, industrialisation, security, education, health and human-capital development. He urged the commissions to also seek private-sector partnerships, donor support and development financing. He warned their boards and management against corruption, politicisation, marginalisation and misuse of public resources. At the summit, Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule said the North Central region should prioritise processing its agricultural and mineral resources locally to create jobs and strengthen its economy.
