Education Minister Claims Tinubu Graduated First-Class in Accounting

Education Minister Tunji Alausa says President Bola Tinubu graduated with a first-class degree in accounting from Chicago State University. Speaking on a television programme on Tuesday, November 3, Alausa said he had visited the university and met some of Tinubu’s classmates. He also called the President a genius and dismissed opposition criticism of his academic credentials. The report later refers to the University of Chicago, rather than Chicago State University, leaving an inconsistency in the account. Tinubu’s academic history has been the subject of public debate.
