Kano Governor Renominates Ex-Commissioner Who Resigned Over Drug Suspect Bail
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has renominated Ibrahim Namadi, the former Commissioner for Transportation, for appointment to the state executive council. Namadi resigned in August 2025 after controversy over his decision to stand surety for Sulaiman Danwawu, an alleged drug trafficking suspect. He stepped down after an investigative committee submitted its findings to the governor. The governor sent Namadi’s name and those of five other nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. The lawmakers are expected to screen the nominees on Monday.
