Anambra Police Arrest Five-Member Gang Luring Okada Riders in Ihiala
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested five suspects in Ihiala for allegedly targeting commercial motorcyclists. The operation was carried out by the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, during an early morning raid. Police say the gang included a female suspect who posed as a passenger. She lured riders to isolated spots where other members ambushed them. Officers recovered a locally made Beretta pistol, three stolen Qlink 150 Tiger motorcycles, and a red face mask used in the attacks. State Commissioner of Police CP Orutugu commended the squad’s swift action. He urged residents and Okada riders to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement. The suspects are in custody and will be charged after investigations conclude.
