INEC Says 9.3 Million Young Nigerians Registered in 2026 CVR Exercise
The Independent National Electoral Commission says 9,324,349 young Nigerians registered during the 2026 Continuous Voter Registration exercise. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed the figure at the induction of nine newly appointed and returning INEC Youth Ambassadors in Abuja on 30 September. He was represented by National Commissioner Prof. Rhoda Gumus. According to the commission, the registrations highlight the importance of youth participation in elections. INEC said the Youth Ambassador programme is intended to strengthen its engagement with young people and encourage wider involvement in the electoral process.
