Man Arrested in Oyo After Allegedly Travelling From Anambra With Pistol to Avenge Brother’s Death

Oyo State Police Command has arrested Kingsley Odo after he was allegedly found with a locally made pistol and one cartridge during a stop-and-search operation along Ife Road. Odo reportedly told officers that his brother died at a school in Awka, Anambra State, in 2021. He said his mother died weeks later and that he had travelled to Oyo to find a person he blamed for his brother’s death. He allegedly said he bought the pistol from a friend for ₦20,000. Police have not independently confirmed the circumstances of his brother’s death or identified the person he accused. Investigations are ongoing, and it is not yet clear whether he has been charged in court.
