NASENI Says Stronger Local Content Policy Can Drive Nigeria’s Industrial Growth
NASENI Executive Vice Chairman Khalil Suleiman Halilu says effective implementation of Nigeria’s local content policy is vital to industrial growth, technology transfer, job creation and stronger local enterprises. He spoke at a two-day training on Local Content Measurement Matrix and Policy Implementation for NASENI staff in Abuja. The programme is being facilitated by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board in collaboration with a capacity-development firm. Halilu said Nigeria must invest in indigenous capacity, innovation and education rather than rely heavily on imports. He highlighted NASENI’s work in solar energy, electric vehicles, smart meters, transformers, diagnostic devices, electronics and software as evidence that locally developed technology can support manufacturing and employment.
