Osun 2026: Swing LGAs and Alliances May Decide Adeleke, Oyebamiji and Salaam
Osun’s 2026 governorship election is shaping up as a contest that may be decided in swing local government areas rather than traditional party strongholds. Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam are all seeking to convert local alliances, influential figures and established political networks into votes. Adeleke is expected to be strong in Ede North, Ede South and Egbedore, while Oyebamiji is targeting solid returns from the Ayedaade, Irewole and Isokan axis. Osogbo, Olorunda, the Iwo axis and parts of Ife and Ilesa could prove decisive. Adeleke is counting on his record in office and local supporters, Oyebamiji is relying on APC structures and his running mate’s Ile-Ife connection, while Salaam may benefit from the political network associated with Rauf Aregbesola.
