Wase Chairman Calls for Community Security Networks Across Nigeria
Wase Local Government Chairman Hamisu Mohammed Anani has urged governments to adopt the Wase Security Network model across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas and area councils. He made the call at a passing-out parade in Jos for operatives trained by the NSCDC Command and Staff College. Anani said the network could support local intelligence and early warnings while working alongside recognised security agencies and any future state police structure. Anani announced that Wase LGA would provide 25 motorcycles and two vehicles to support patrols and rapid response. He urged the newly trained operatives to respect human rights, remain politically neutral and work closely with conventional security agencies. The ceremony was attended by Plateau State officials, traditional leaders and security representatives. The graduating personnel also demonstrated their village security and rapid-response training.
