Yemeni security agencies say Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari, an ISIS spokesperson and senior leader, has been killed in a joint operation involving coalition forces and Yemeni counterterrorism officers. Officials said forces initially tried to arrest him, but the operation ended with his death. The location and further operational details were not disclosed. Authorities reported no civilian casualties or property damage. Al-Ansari became widely known in 2023 after announcing the death of then-ISIS leader Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi and naming his successor. His death could weaken the group’s propaganda operations, although ISIS and Al-Qaeda cells remain active in parts of Yemen.
