Suspected Bandits Kill Three Vigilantes in Kebbi-Niger Border Ambush
Three vigilantes from Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State were reportedly killed in an ambush while returning from Agwara in Niger State. The victims were identified as Saminaka vigilante commander Abubakar Mai Nera, Tanko Sarki and Amadu Saminaka. They were said to be from the Saminaka and Bakinturu communities of Shanga LGA. Residents said the men were attacked near Kasabo, Binuwa and Mago communities across the River Kwara along the Kebbi-Niger border. Search teams were still trying to recover the bodies as concern grows over persistent armed attacks in border communities.
