Gunmen Kill NSCDC Officer, Abduct Businessman Despite Plateau Curfew

Gunmen reportedly killed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and abducted a businessman during an attack on Pushit community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. on October 19, despite a dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed in Mangu and two other local government areas after repeated attacks. Residents said the officer encountered the gunmen while they were fleeing with the abducted businessman. Community members have called for stronger security in Pushit District and nearby communities, including Vodni, Sabon Gari and Nchiya. They also urged authorities to secure the businessman's release and address continued attacks in the area.
