Prince Harry, Elton John and Others Ordered to Pay Daily Mail Publisher £9.54m
Prince Harry, Sir Elton John and five other claimants have been ordered to pay £9.54 million to Associated Newspapers Limited, the publisher of the Daily Mail, as an initial contribution towards legal costs. The group sued the publisher over allegations of unlawful information gathering. After an 11-week High Court trial in London, Mr Justice Nicklin dismissed all the claims on July 7. The court heard that the publisher's total legal costs exceeded £34 million. Further hearings will determine the final amount the claimants must pay.
