Kidnapped Jezco Chairman’s Daughter Blames Jowizaza’s Online Lifestyle for Ransom Hike
Blessing Ezeokafor, daughter of kidnapped Jezco Group chairman Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, has publicly accused her brother, Eberechukwu “Jowizaza” Ezeokafor, of making the family a target through extravagant social-media displays. In Facebook posts dated August 12, she alleged that the online portrayal of wealth convinced the kidnappers that the family could pay more. She claimed the ransom demand rose from ₦700 million to ₦1.5 billion. Blessing also alleged that the family is deeply indebted and appealed directly to the abductors to release her father, saying he needs medication. Chief Ezeokafor was reportedly kidnapped during his annual spiritual retreat, and the family says communication with the captors has since stopped.
