Former Teacher Pleads Guilty After Abusing Student Who Fathered Her Child at 13

A former New Jersey elementary school teacher has pleaded guilty to child endangerment after abusing a former student over several years. She gave birth to his child when he was 13, according to court reports. The former teacher, who taught at an elementary school and coached basketball, allegedly began abusing the boy when he was 11. DNA evidence later confirmed that he was the father of her daughter. Authorities were alerted in December 2024 after the boy’s father noticed a resemblance between his son and the child. The teacher was arrested in January 2025 and faces up to five years in prison under her plea agreement, alongside sex-offender registration, loss of her teaching licence and lifetime parole supervision. The case is due for sentencing on January 8 after a court-ordered assessment.
