Satirical Gold-Plated Trump Statue Unveiled at European Parliament
A satirical 2.5-metre gold-plated sculpture depicting US President Donald Trump has been unveiled at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. Created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt, the work is titled “The Orange Plague” and portrays Trump holding a golf club while sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man. It is scheduled to remain on display until Thursday. The artist says the sculpture criticises inequality and Trump’s stance on climate change. It was exhibited following an invitation from Danish left-wing European Parliament member Per Clausen.
