Acting on intelligence, Sector 2 troops moved to the exchange point and came under fire from the kidnappers. The troops overpowered the gunmen, who fled and abandoned the hostage. The woman was rescued unharmed, reunited with her family, and troops later searched the escape route to secure the area.
