Tinubu Says Lower Production and Transport Costs Are Key to Cheaper Living
President Bola Tinubu says his administration is prioritising lower living costs by reducing the cost of producing and moving goods and services across Nigeria. In his Independence Day address, he said the government is expanding mechanised irrigation and dry-season farming, improving farmers’ access to seeds and fertiliser, increasing mechanisation, and investing in storage and transportation. He added that roads, railways and ports are being developed to link farms and factories to markets. According to the President, cutting post-harvest losses, energy costs and transport delays should help bring down market prices while supporting jobs, enterprise and industrial growth.
